IELTS listening tips -

1. Keep all your concentration on listening carefully to the hour or half that of the test lasts. Slip in concentration can make you lose the sequence of responses and panic settles quickly.

2. The test includes four sections. Sections 1 and 3 are dialogues and Articles 2 and 4 are monologues. There are 40 questions to be answered and the test lasts 30 minutes. Ten minutes will be given at the end of the test to write your answers on the answer sheet.

3. Pay special attention to the dialogue sections (sections 1 and 3).

4. At the beginning of each section of the recording time is expected to read the questions. Use this time to read the questions relating to this article (the voice on the tape tells you how many questions to read). Time is also provided at the end of each section to check your answers. Use this time to read the questions for the next section

5. Read the questions carefully. If the application, said Mark answer A, B, C or D on the answer sheet, be sure not to write the sentence as A, B, C or D match. Just write A, B, C or D. If the question states that you should not use more than three words in your answer in writing four words you will not have points for this question.

6. The answers usually appear in conversation in the same order as the questions.

7. The speakers are often correct. They will say something at the beginning and then change the statement. For example, "we will go to Lahore"; says first, then "No, we are going to Karachi " The correct answer is the final declaration is not Karachi and Lahore. Be careful when you like that stuff.

8. If you miss an answer, do not panic. Stay tuned for the next answer.

9. Write your answer immediately on the question sheet on the spot. Do not try to remember to write the answers on the answer sheet. The ten minutes at the end of the test are quite sufficient to transfer your answers to the answer sheet.
